I’m Lindsay & I’m an Actor

At age ten I signed up to be on running crew and had a great time. I might have left it at that and not returned to do another show, but in observing the performers I felt this desire and hunger to be up on stage. It was a new feeling for me, yet powerful.

I never feel more alive than when I’m performing in some way.

Sometimes I wonder why I participate in the theatre, wonder why I want a future of uncertainty and no guarantees, wonder why I want people to pat me on the back and say “Ok sure. . . ” when I say that I perform for a living.

Then I remember the production of A Raisin in the Sun that was so raw and so real it electrified me. I wasn’t an audience member; they weren’t actors.

We have so much power.

To be able to impact people, to create that level of emotion inside the room, to make people walk away from the theatre in awe just like I experienced that night.
